I deleted a file in a folder in my documents folder. Can I get it back?

I deleted a file in my documents folder. I need to get it back. How do I do this?

Documents (Folder)
School (Folder)
HLTH 1110 - Social Hlth & Div (Folder)
Notes (Document)

I need this file back. Please, where did it go?

I am new to Ubuntu, and did not know where the "recycle bin" was. I have found it.

but beware...if u delete a file even from the trash...u can't get it back...as in windows, using some recovery software...

Linux file system isn't designed to allow file recovery...I mean once a file is permanently deleted, that's the end of it.....
