the top panel has dissapeared. I can't open anything.

Asked by Karol Bojarski

Binary package hint: nautilus

The top panel only lists my internet browsers. All my other menus have dissapeared. I can't access my files, synaptec, terminal, pretty much any program except for the 3 browsers i use. The only icons left in the top panel are Firefox, Chrome, Opera, System Monitor and Help.

The bottom panel is completely gone. I can't access trash or my other desktops.

This happened overnight while i was sleeping and had the computer on. This is really frustrating. Please help me asap.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

Right click on the tab that is present and click on the option new panel to get your second panel.

You can add required items like Main Menu Bar, Window List, Notification area, Indicator applet, Trash etc from the "Add to panel " Menu.

Thats how custamizable a panel in ubuntu is!!! :)

Thanks, that solved it. I had already right clicked the panel but somehow completely missed the "add to panel" menu.

Everything is as it used to be now, thanks again :)
