How to move files into WINE Windows?

Asked by Bart Walker

Hi,
I'm a three day old linux user, but generally higher level of computer skills.

I have installed WINE on Unbuntu 5.10 and now want to add more true type fonts to the fonts directory in WINE (Windows:fonts). The additional fonts are now on my Ubuntu desktop.

I can't find how to get the fonts moved into the Windows:fonts folder. The C drive and all of it's contents cannot be see by Linux. WINE seems to have created a pseudo C directory that Nautilus or other Ubuntu file managers cannot see.

Within the winefile file manager I can see both my desktop files and the Windows:font directory, but the winefile manager seems to be uncapable of copying or moving files fron one location to another.

I am stuck without seeming options.

How can I move these true type files on my desktop into the WINE C:\Windows:fonts environment?

Thank you for your suggestions!

look in the .wine directory in your home drive i.e. ~/.wine

It should be a directory like C in there IIRC. So:

/home/username/.wine/C

and your standard windows directory structure under there. You should just be able to copy in there

Dave
