how to install and configure yum and rpm on ubuntu 9.10?

how to install and configure yum and rpm on ubuntu 9.10?

i had already tried a lot bt... not gaining any profit
by apt-get install yum
it is installed bt...... none of commands are working in rpm and yum plz help me sir/madam/.

man yum

I think you need a repolist for yum.

"yum repolist"
