Dropbox app doesnt work after the initial setup on Ubuntu

I've downloaded the linux(ubuntu) verion of dropbox app and installed it on my laptop. It worked for the first time - after configuring it with user name password and sync directories, the sync is working flawlessly on my machine. But the dropbox app itself no longer starts when i double click.

I've unistalled and reinstalaled the app thrice - every time it works for the first time after iinstall. AFter that it no longer works - but the sync is working. Is there a way to fix the app so I can get this to work - iwthout the app, its hard to see whats happening during sync or unable to change any options for syncing.

Has anyone see this? I'm on Ubuntu 14.10 LTS version
