Space Problem

Asked by Pytopiz

My Computer Is really messed up and my friend told me about Ubuntu and how it wipes out your harddrive and puts in a new one. But when i tried to install it a error came up telling me i needed so many MB to download/install. I clearly have enough space and i don't know what to do? Please help!!! Ohand my computer also says there is a critical virus thing and it keeps trying to find an antispy soft where but when it does that all that comes up on the internet is about::blank?

What did you download from where? an Ubuntu iso from:

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

here?

If so you need to burn it to CD, then reboot your computer from that CD to install. Doing this will wipe any data on your existing drive, unless you install to a resized partition. Either way, back up anything important first.

I'm not understanding the problem. How are you trying to install, on a resized partition? using available free space? or do you want to completely blow windows off the drive?

Can you help with this problem?
