How to update package from Debian-sid?

Asked by Jose Luis Blanco-Claraco

Hi all,

I maintain a package in Debian and I wonder if there's any procedure for me to trigger an update in all Ubuntu Jaunty/Karmic/Lucid/Maverick so the newer packages got into these distributions.

Do you also have in Ubuntu a "mentor"-based system?
Where or who should I head each time I want to do such an update from Debian-sid? Or, do you recommend me to upload the .deb sources (the .dsc, .orig files, etc.) somewhere else instead?

Thanks in advance!

Mixing Debian and Ubuntu and Debian debs is not advised nor supported. Debian debs are for Debian and Ubuntu debs are for Ubuntu.

You can compile the source under ubuntu and contribute the packages possibly using this sort of thing:

Can you help with this problem?
