How catch Ctrl+c in libmpv using the API

I have an application that uses client.h and libmpv.so . I want to catch Ctrl+c (map the key), and I have a vague memory of having seen it done in the client code, but I can't find anything in the docs. Not specifying it in some nput.conf file, but actually setting that up using api calls. Is it possible? How?

The question / problem remains. Perhaps there's no way to configure this via the MPV API, as specified by client.h? If not, it would be a most useful addition.
