version 1.4 available since 1 year, 1.3 buggy
Dear Ubuntu team,
I encountered issues with various video files that play fine in other players. Here, I get frozen video followed by a grey screen that only gradually gets picture details (from delta frames). The Terminal window shows messages of the sort
[hevc @ 0x7fb841036920]Got unexpected packet after EOF
[hevc @ 0x7fb841036920]
[hevc @ 0x7fb841036920]
[hevc @ 0x7fb841036920]
[hevc @ 0x7fb841036920]
according to a mplayer bug report, this is fixed in 1.4 and got a "wontfix" for 1.3: http://
there is also a pending ubuntu bug https:/
According to https:/
Why does ubuntu still provide the obsolete version?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Kind regards,
Karl Ewald

You have to be aware that Ubuntu is taking over software from Debian (to avoid double packaging work), and this problem has already been reported to Debian, but no action has been taken so far
https:/
I suggest that you create a bug in Ubuntu's bug tracker, with a reference to the Debian bug.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Karl for more information if necessary.
