Why does mozilla-mozgest and mozgest exist in Hardy?

Asked by Benjamin Drung

There are two packages, mozilla-mozgest and mozgest, with the same goal. mozilla-mozgest has the older version (1.5.2) and mozgest the newer (1.9+svn). Why does not mozgest replace mozilla-mozgest?

These packets were uninstalled by default in my Hardy LTS. I think you can either use the one or the other simply the way you prefer. Maybe features vary or there's different support for applications. I wasn't able to find information online regarding that matter, except your report [L]. ;-)
