Hello,

Sorry your question is not so clear to me, but I try to answer something.

You want to record video from what? Webcam?

If it's not that but you just want to record what you are doing on the screen (for instance to create a tutorial), I would suggest you install "RecordMyDesktop". This tool is available in Ubuntu Software Center (you find the menu in your applications).

This tool is easy to use. I knew nothing about RecordMyDesktop, and I just installed it because your question made me curious. I created a small video in 2 minutes. It was stored in "Ogg" format, but then I could convert it to MPEG-4 format, with VLC Player.

Does this answer the question?
Regards
Enrico
