You can download the mono application from the software repository. That has the libraries required.

Ok dib, I misunderstood what you meant. An msi file is a m$ file, so it will have to be run under wine. I see that you said that the program is not working under wine.

What app/program is it?

Thanks
Paul

download the application from [here http://oobe.arca-eclipse.com/cb0t267install.msi] .. its a chat client, and what i believe is written with .net because it requires .net to be installed on a Windows PC prior to installation.

ok...that's a bit out of my expertise I'm afraid.
Just out of interest, why do you want to run an msi chat client on linux? There are plenty of linux clients that ship with ubuntu (pidgin is what I use, there's skype, and heaps of others).

If you have to use this particular program then you may want to try installing a virtual windows box on your linux and then run it in that.

Personally, I suggest you use a linux client unless you absolutely have to use m$

its not a chat client for social networks, its a chat client for chat rooms. What is this virtual windows box ?

a virtual windows box is software you can install, that then lets you install windows inside your linux. It's like having 2 computers in one. You can download and install virtualbox OSE (search for it in the software repository) and then install windows using that.
There are plenty of chat clients for chat rooms on ubuntu...go to the software repository and search 'chat'

I recommend xchat personally.

It should be possible to use WINE to run the MSI file, but you will first need to use WINE to install the windows version of mono.

Can you help with this problem?
