help with installing ModemManager

Hello all you good people out there... Greetings. I realize I am now in the world of Ubuntu- however: I would like to know if and better yet HOW to install ModemManager tar.bz2 file on my Debian 8 box. Please don't shoot :)

1. We cannot help with Debian problems.

2. Why would you want to install modemmanager from a .tar.bz2 file? there are ready-made packages, see https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=modemmanager&searchon=names&exact=1&suite=all&section=all to be installed with the package management tools.
