mit-scheme not available

Asked by Phoenix Stormcrow

The Ubuntu software center claims: "Sorry, 'mit-scheme' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)". But it clearly is. By first running $ sudo apt-get build-dep mit-scheme, and then obtaining the appropriate Unix binary at http://www.gnu.org/software/mit-scheme, I've been able to install it just fine. Probably this is not the correct place for me to make this comment, but it is the only place I've found, and I hope this information helps others interested in this program.

I suggest you run:

ubuntu-bug mit-scheme

to log the bug

That didn't work, because the package doesn't exist. Similarly,

$ apport-bug /usr/local/bin/mit-scheme

yields

apport-bug: error: /usr/local/bin/mit-scheme does not belong to a package.

Oh well, I guess.
