/usr/bin/metview: line 154: 5: Bad file descriptor

Greetings :-)

When one installs metview at Ubuntu (any version since 16) the result is an error, and must go by installing from sources. Most of time source setup also does not work... the issue seems quite old and the solution it is well described from ECMWF metview main developer at:

https://github.com/ecmwf/metview-python/issues/19

Would you please check it with @iainrussell ?
