Seems to be at 8.2 but there is a lot of development before release. If you submit a bug and state whaty bug and security fixes the newer version gives then it may be updated.

8.2 ??

Ubuntu 15.04 has Mesa 10.5.9 :)

And right now Ubuntu 15.10 has Mesa 10.6.3

I assume that it is already too late for mesa version 11 to be included in wily.

If you look at the release schedule for wily https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/ReleaseSchedule you can see that feature freeze and debian import freeze were already a few weeks ago, but the new mesa version was published only this week.

There have to be specific reasons that this new version would make it into wily, e.g. critical bug fixes.

And please read the release notes of mesa 11.0.0:
"Mesa 11.0.0 is a new development release. People who are concerned with stability and reliability should stick with a previous release or wait for Mesa 11.0.1."

Apparently actionparsnip confused the mesa source package with the mesa-demos source package.
