why medit disappears in 20.04?

Asked by Qianqian Fang

medit has been my favorite text editor and I have been using it for years. I noticed that the medit package disappeared in Ubuntu 20.04, wonder if there is any particular reason why it is no supported any more?

would be wonderful to continue providing the package for this wonderful text editor.

would t be helpful if someone help migrate the code from Python 2 to Python 3? I will be happy to take a look (or ask someone to help). To sad to see such a nice editor to go away.
