multiple instances

Asked by Florian Effenberger

Hello,

I want to run multiple MediaWiki instances on one machine, and in order to make maintenance easier, I want to use the original Ubuntu packages from the repository.

However, the MediaWiki package normally is only intended for one site.

Is there any easy way to have two parallel instances out of the same repository, so that updates are deployed accordingly?

Thanks,
Florian

In the help site [1] there is a link to [2]; as far as I see from this other link [3] you can be up to date with ubuntu security updates just symlinking the installation files to each instance.
