Mediawiki Maverick Meerkat package?

Hi, on http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/mediawiki I see that there is no Mediawiki package available. Is this because Meerkat is not out yet or because no package have been proposed as of now?
Same question goes for mediawiki-extensions. Version 2.3 is available in Debian unstable and Squeeze (testing). Would it be possible to port this new package to Ubuntu for Meerkat?

It will be because it's not out yet. Maverick is months away from release so there will be lots of functionality missing as well as the existing functionality having issues.
