Can I play a hls stream from the terminal with mediaplayer-app?

I would like to play an HLS-stream from the terminal with mediaplayer-app, Is this possible. I've tried it like this:
ubuntu-app-launch mediaplayer-app http://svtplay18e-f.akamaihd.net/i/se/open/20150527/1370095-001A/EPISOD-1370095-001A-8aadbfc343c47c6f_,892,144,252,360,540,1584,2700,.mp4.csmil/master.m3u8

I do get the answer that It can find playback backed.
