Use of checkarray on hybrid ssd/hdd raid 1

Asked by Tony Middleton

I am considering using a hybrid ssd/hdd raid 1 array and have been doing some research. I understand that this is possible.

--write-mostly seems to be suggested and makes sense.

Trim/discard is supported in modern kernels for this configuration. However a comment against the commit says

This makes md raid 1 support TRIM. If one disk supports discard and another not, or one has discard_zero_data and another not, there could be inconsistent between data from such disks. But this should not matter, discarded data is useless. This will add extra copy in rebuild though.

I'm not clear where this will leave checkarray after trim/discard carried out. Will it detect a mismatch and start trying to repair? I couldn't find any comments on this.
