AFAIK already lyx 1.5.3.1 is in the hardy repos and you cannot upload the package now to hardy as Feature Freeze is over on feb 14th itself.. In the next version i.e intrepid ibex (ubuntu 8.10) it ll be included...

Hope it helps

I do believe there may be a chance that LyX 1.5.5-1 will be backported to Hardy to fix Bug 228067. But first it has to be successfully built on Intrepid, which failed due to chroot problems. See the log here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14556017/buildlog_ubuntu-intrepid-i386.lyx_1.5.5-1_CHROOTWAIT.txt.gz (32-bit) and http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14555938/buildlog_ubuntu-intrepid-amd64.lyx_1.5.5-1_CHROOTWAIT.txt.gz (64-bit).

However, you can backport the package for yourself by using Prevu, an automated backporting utility.

Run the following commands in Terminal (Applications->Terminal) one at a time.

sudo -s
apt-get install prevu
echo "deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ sid main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get update
exit
prevu lyx

The last step will take a while depending on the speed of your computer as LyX is compiled. When it is done, run Update Manager (System -> Administration -> Update Manager) and update LyX.

Alternatively I can give you the LyX packages I built with Prevu, but I have a 64-bit system and consequently have only 64-bit packages (I do not know how to build 32-bit packages with Prevu on a 64-bit system if that is possible).

Can you help with this problem?
