word documents to latex

does LyX converts word documents to latex(like word documents to pdf direct conversion).if does then does it provides the codes in latex.if LyX doesnt converts word to latex then is there is any other software that converts word to latex directly.

I don't know about Lyx, but from your question, you are looking program that convert from writer to latex format, aren't you?
Try this one:
http://writer2latex.sourceforge.net/

This is an extension for OpenOffice or LibreOffice to export odt format to tex format. You will get tex (usually used by LaTeX) in plain text.
