Is Lubuntu 12.04 an LTS ?

Asked by LXCC

Hi,
a month ago i've installed Lubuntu 12.04, 64bit.

On wiki:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu#Lubuntu_VS_Ubuntu
"Lubuntu 12.04 is not an LTS (5 years support), but a standard release that is supported for 18 months (if you would like to change this please feel free to contact the developers to offer assistance in this area)."

but

$ lsb_release -a
LSB Version: core-2.0-amd64:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-amd64:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-amd64:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-amd64:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-amd64:core-4.0-noarch
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise

then, is Lubuntu 12.04 an LTS?
Or next october I have to change Lubuntu version?

Thanks

Lubuntu 12.04 is supported like the non LTS releases but packages common in all releases will continue but community support will cease

You could get around it by installing Ubuntu minimal then install lxde :-)

lsb_release will still say ubuntu :-)
