Desktop icons, color mode screen savers

Asked by Terry Gabrich

I am new to ubuntu. I have Lubuntu 12.04 on my system. I would like to know:

1) How do I change the color background to my desk top to a different color and how do I add icons so I can go to them quickly

2) I am a singer and a composer and song writer. I use to have score writer, but it won't work with Lubuntu. I contacted Sibelius, but they don't have a music software program that is compatible with Lubuntu. I would like to know if there is a music composer, songwriter software that I could download on my computer that would be compatible to Lubuntu. I program that will allow me to compose and write music???

For the first question

See here

For the second I suggest you open another question as the musicians here probably won't read the question when the title is about desktop icons etc.

You may wan't to start here however. http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/music-notation-programs-recent-releases

I use Lilypond. Its very powerful but its not a wysiwyg interface.

Can you help with this problem?
