Where is the trash can icon so I can empty it in Lubuntu Version 12.04?

Asked by Chris Montgomery

I am sending deleted items to the trash can but cannot find a trash can icon to click on to empty it permenently.

I am using Foxfire with Lubuntu Version 12.04.

I have looked everywhere and cannot find it.

Hi ,

here is your answer : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1949042

same is for 12.04. Also you can create a trascan icon in your desktop if you want , the procedure described in the same thread, but I find it meaningless.

Thanks

When you open the PCmanFM file manager or nautilus you will see at left a list with devices and places. Trash included.

If you have not side bar at all , then see the preferences (edit > preferences)

Thanks

apt-get install trash-cli
trash-cli

seems to work
actually this is more useful on Lubuntu, where they do not have any empty trash feature.

Can you help with this problem?
