loop-aes-utils for Ubuntu 16LTS

Asked by phelibre

I riding without any difficulty an image disk Apple (HFS +) on my Ubuntu 16 :)
Now I would do the same with an encrypted disk and I have to install a loop-aes-utils archive.

I found only this one that causes me problem:

Phelibre @ phelibre-VirtualBox: ~ $ sudo apt install loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb
Reading Package Lists ... Done
Building the dependency tree
Reading status information ... Done
E: Unable to find the package loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb
E: Could not find any package by glob 'loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb'
E: Unable to find a matching regular expression "loop-aes-utils_2.16.2-2ubuntu1_i386.deb"

With this message I am a little dry and nothing special since dmesg ...

Do you have a hose?

The package loop-aes-utils has not been maintained for several years, and it has been removed from the repositories for current Ubuntu releases.
According to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=680748 the same functionality is provided by dm-crypt from the cryptsetup package.

Can you help with this problem?
