How do I rebuild lirc modules in 13.04

I would like to create a fixed package to address this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lirc/+bug/1198736

The Ubuntu guide for LIRC says to install lirc-modules source ( https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LIRC ) but this is showing as being replaced by the lirc package itself. Inspecting the cached package does not show any source files included.

How do I find the original source used to create this package for 13.04 so I can patch it myself?

Looks like these are now in the kernel so I'll dig and see if the mainline kernel has the fix applied already.
