Boot to liveCD and reinstall grub. This will help:

Couldn't get livecd off my existing boot cd , I hit enter and waited 10 mins, nothing happened so I burned a new cd at lowest possible write speed. When I start up I get two select between Microsoft NT(the previous OS) and xubuntu. I select xubuntu and then I must hit ESC to get to a menu of choices or I get the INT14 bug again. I am then presented with a screen saying GRUB4DOS 0.4.4 and a choice of normal, safe graphic, ACPI, verbose or demo mode and then text outside the window. I tried hitting enter and got the bug, also tried b for boot same thing. any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tested your RAM using the LiveCD or the installed system?

boot to the liveCD, the first menu you see will show: test memory. Here is a screenshot to clarify:

Note the "Check Memory" option. You need this. If it passes then boot to the liveCD and reinstall grub2.

Can you help with this problem?
