Computer not powering down after successful shutdown
First issue is the computer not powering down after clicking shutdown, using sudo shutdown -h now and the alt + prntsrn + keys method.
Happens more often than not, sometimes the second attempt shuts down like it should but more often continues to reboot, forcing me to execute a shutdown then hold the physical power button while its on a black screen.
Have checked shutdown logs and seems to be shutting down successfully, making me think its potentially a hardware issue, however it is all brand new components. Maybe a motherboard BIOS update? wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem before I attempt that.
Have checked almost all of the threads on the first page of google regarding this, and had some short success for about a week after editing a shutdown file, but the issue is back. It now also hangs on the BIOS splash for 1-2 mins before showing the login screen, always after a hard power down but doesn't if i got lucky with a normal shutdown (pretty rare now)
Have had a dual boot for linux mint on my old pc for some time now, however this new build is full linux (yay) but this issue is slowly driving me mad.
Any advice / help appreciated!
