The kernel team will need to asses the heat monitoring portion of the code. The manufacturers will also need to pitch in to give the relevant info. Keep an eye on the bug to see when it gets resolved. The answer to when is "twice as long as half the time it takes". Unfortunately there is no way of knowing.
