screen much darker since kernel switch from 5.4.0-122 to 5.15.0-41

Since I updated kernel from 5.4.0-122 to 5.15.0-41 my new Dell Inspiron 15.3525 laptop screen is much darker after booting into linux mint. Changing brightness does not help, brightness is at 1.0. It's not a disaster, I can still read the screen but it is too dark to be comfortable.
