Missing support for wireless chipset rtl88x2BU

I have a wireless antenna based on the chipset rtl88x2BU and there is not package available to support this chipset in Ubuntu: 18.04, 18.10 and 19.04.

Luckily there is a working project for it, here:

The inconvenient issue is that for every kernel update that module needs to be re-compiled, restart the system etc.

Is there any reason why this chipset is not supported/present in the repositories?

You can pin the kernel version and you won't have the issue.
