There is no picture on either screen when you start your computer

I have a LG TV attached to a hdmi cable with a laptop and if the TV is turned on when I boot my laptop so both screens are black. This occurs on kernel 4.13. Kernel 4.10 or older works fine. I using Linux mint 18.3 cinnamon and kernel is 4.13.0-32-generic. Can i repair this easily or do i use 4.10 kernel?

Mint is not supported here or by any of the Ubuntu support channels. Mint has it's own community which is entirely separate from Ubuntu's

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported by the Ubuntu community or Canonical.
