Ubuntu 14.10 is EOL and no longer supported in any way. I suggest you run a final full backup of your data and then wipe the installation off the system. You can then do a clean install of Xenial. Xenial is LTS and supported until April 2021.

Ubuntu 14.10 also is not LTS. The LTS releases are in April every 2 years.

8.04
10.04
12.04
14.04
16.04

Are all the LTS releases of Ubuntu. Currently only 14.04, 16.04 and 16.10 (latest release but is not LTS) are supported by the Ubuntu community and Canonical.

Andrew, Thank you for your help! But we try test with 14.04 LTS 64bit also have the same issue.
It's used the Intel 6th CPU and Intel 100 Chipset.
We try to test with 16.10 it's normally. May we have some package to fixed usb issue with 14.04 or 14.10? Many thanks!

14.10 will never get any new packages or patches. We cannot support dead releases.

If you install 14.04 and report a bug it may get resolved as Trusty is supported until April 2019
