Wrong keyboard layout on Thinkpad X1 2gen

Asked by Michael Heuberger on 2015-03-05

Somehow, after some recent GRUB modifications and an apt-get upgrade for the fingerprint sensor, the keyboard layout on my Thinkpad X1, second generation got messed up.

I have a normal US layout here and expect SHIFT-2 to print @ but it prints " instead.

I verified under keyboard settings, everything appears to be correct. No idea what the problem is.

Can you please advise me, how to investigate this?

Thanks
Michael

Maybe this is bug #1240198

If it is, you should be able to use the instructions in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1240198/comments/19 to correct the settings.

yeah, ibus-setup might work but cannot tell. because yesterday i tried something else: under settings -> text entry i changed to another input source, then reverted this back to the previous one et volia, everything was working fine again. weird.
