v4l does not compile with kernel 2.6.24-5

Asked by luca.mg

I'm running gutsy with hardy's 2.6.24-5 kernel complete with headers/sources and related build essentials/libc etc packages: no way to compile source code from mercurial v4l-dvb-kernel: error code 2, and, by the way, as a matter of fact no way to compile the serialmonkey source as well (yes I'm struggling with the nasty ralink dongles bug too, and I get error code 2 when trying to compile those modules either); feel free to enquire for additional info if You wish. Best regards Luca

This doesn't seem to be an actual bug with the kernel but rather with the drivers you are trying to compile. They most likely need to be updated to work with the latest kernel release. I'm converting this to an question in the Answers area as this does not seem to be a valid kernel bug. Thanks.
