Where has zcache gone?
I've just installed a Trusty VM and added the kernel option "zcache" but it doesn't do anything.
Checked the config file and zcache isn't even mentioned, although compcache and frontswap are configured.
Had a Google around and couldn't find any mention of zcache being removed from the upstream kernel.
Has the config option simply been misplaced?

Trusty as in Ubuntu 14.04?

Yes.
I forgot to include this:
$ uname -a
Linux ken-VirtualBox 3.12.0-4-generic #12-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 26 22:41:11 UTC 2013 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux
Then I suggest you report a bug. Trusty is not stable and not even remotely finished so YES things will be missing. If you need an OS that works then I recommend you install Precise. You can upgrade direct to Trusty when it is ready in April next year.
You are using a prerelease. What did you expect?

I didn't EXPECT anything, I asked a bloody question!!!
Who do you think tests these pre-releases and reports problems???
