Windows 8 BCD Ubuntu 12.04 Grub compatibility
Hello everyone! I will list the points:
1) Win 8(installed first) and then Ubuntu 12.04, both on separate drives
2) If Ubuntu is 1st boot drive in Bios, I get GRUB at Startup
3) I can then start Ubuntu, but if I had chosen Win 8 from the GRUB list, Win will not startup, instead I am thrown back to GRUB menu, where I can start Ubuntu.
4) I have the Boot-Repair disk, and I see "Advance Options, Repair Windows", but I don't want to create more chaos!
5) Windows Boot Manager says: File:\boot\bcd , Status: 0xc00000f
"The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors."
How can I sucessfully boot Win 8 from the GRUB menu? BTW, if I make Win 8
the 1st boot drive, then I will get a "Preparing Automatic Repair" message,
and "Attempting repairs" appears with no further actions.
Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hello everyone! Reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 from the CD iso no less than 4
times! Now, if I want Windows 8 to install, I have to press F8, for my mobo,
before the Grub menu shows, to get it. If I waited too long and Grub menu
shows, then I have to choose the Ubuntu 12.04 install or reboot, eventhough Win 8 is
listed on the Grub menu. It is on the Grub menu, but the whole startup
process will freeze if I choose it. This setup is good enough for me.
Thank you!
