If your computer is old enough that it can't support PAE then running Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 even with a non-pae kernel you probably would find it too slow to use comfortably.

I would recommend Lubuntu 12.04, Lubuntu 12.10 has PAE kernel so wont work. However 12.04 was non PAE.

Download is here

Or take a look here

Note: 9.04 has not been supported since October 2010. The repositories are not available any more. The easiest way to update will be a backup and a clean install from the links given in the previous post.

I reccommend the 2nd link Warren gave with a clean install. You will need to upgrade to 9.10, then to 10.04 and then to 12.04

A clean install will give a cleaner OS as well as give support til April 2017

I used the first link and downloaded Lubuntu and am installing it now as I write. My question now is once complete with the install can I then be able to install Ubuntu Christian Edition either side by side with Lubuntu or over it?
