Will not boot

After computer post is complete on Compaq presario sr1920nx, purple screen appears for few seconds than the following lines appear:

[13.637789] [drm:drm_crtc_helper_set_config] ***ERROR*** failed to set mode on [crtc:10]
[13.637814] [drm:drm_crtc_helper_set_config] ***ERROR*** failed to set mode on [crtc:10]
[14.115823] [drm:drm_crtc_helper_set_config] ***ERROR*** failed to set mode on [crtc:10]

Thats all that appears on screen.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ,
try to download and install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS alternative CD.

Be aware that CDs must burned to the lower speed always (when data will be written) .

Alternate install CD can be found here: http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/
