has the unstability bug for ext4 worked itself into any versions of ubuntu/kubuntu?

I just want to avoid the bug for now.
I am running 10.04 ( yes - sad I know )
want to update to 12.04 but do not want to loose data to this bug.

Then youo should have BACKUPS if your data is important. Simple

Not simple
edit a spreadsheet that has been collecting info for 3 years.
save
reboot
and file is empty

( and it happens to alot of your files )
that is the symptoms that are described.
Last files edited before restart might be lost

Too dangerous, need to avoid.
