How can I add patches for Wacom Tablet?

Asked by Ashley Brewin

My Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet doesn't work on 12.04. I have found what I think is the fix here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/linux/+bug/1009435/+editstatus

Being a relative novice I don't understand how and where to add the data shown on that page.

If you can explain what I have to do in SIMPLE steps, I'd really appreciate your help as my tablet is useless at the moment.

Thank you.

You just need to upgrade to the latest kernel update on 12.04, everything should be in place.

There is still https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/1038615 that's blocking proper use.

Timo,
thanks for your fast feedback.
I have 12.04.1 (3.2.0-30) installed, which I believe is the latest kernal update.
The tablet isn't working.

Timo,
I have had to re-install 12.04.1 and by doing so have cured the problem.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards
Ashley
