upgrade kernel in livecd

Asked by SoloTurn on 2012-07-15

when upgrading the 12.04 livecd i followed:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization

then i downloaded different kernel from here:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.2.23-precise/

and installed, which gives the error:

and i am wondering if it would be possible to have the package doing this?

You will need to reboot to get to the new kernel, so if it's a liveCD the changes are only in RAM. If you are booting to LiveUSB with a persistance then when you reboot the changes will stick.

As for the packaging I suggest you contact the person who created the deb file.

with what kernel did you try it and it worked?
