Ubuntu 12.04 LTS freezes randomly

Asked by Bo Frederiksen

Ubuntu seems to freeze randomly. I've tried loging in via tellnet, to see if it was only the graphics that is frozen, but the telnet server doesn't respond after freeze.

How do I trouble shoot this?

Thx.

Thx. I tried that as you suggested.

Holding shift during boot brings up menu with memtest86.

result after 1 pass: *****Pass complete, no errors, press Esc to exit*****

Any more ideas?
