Fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04 is hanging at "stopping kernel save messages" How do I fix this?

Asked by DaveThacker

Media: Mythbuntu 12.04, 1386
Hardware :Dell Optiplex

When selecting the "Install Mythbuntu" option from the CD, the boot process hangs. The last message displayed on the console is "Stopping Kernel Save Messages". What do I need to change to get past this?
Thanks in Advance, Dave

Hold shift at boot and try an older kernel. Is it ok?

Holding Shift at boot brings me to the install menu. I am not getting menu that shows a choice of kernels. Since this is fresh install, would I have a choice of kernels?

You could boot to liveCD and chroot to the installed OS and change default kernel / update / preform actions

Can you help with this problem?
