Battery power goes down very fast in Ubuntu 11.10

Asked by Ramamohan

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 on Sony Vaio with Intel Core I7 2.7 GHz processor. I have Windows 7 professional (64 bit) installed on other partition. My battery back time in Windows is 4-5 hours whereas in Ubuntu it is 1 hr 30 min only. Under System Settings - Hardware - Power, not many options are given to manage power. When Ubuntu is power hungry ? Pl help.

Actually the issue should be fixed.
