Reg. 64bit - 6 GB RAM

Verify that it recognizes RAM correctly.
sudo lshw -C memory

free -m

If it doesn't report a bug:
ubuntu-bug linux

Review log files like dmesg, kern.log, syslog in case to find some issues with memory or BIOS errors.

Maybe deactivate restricted fglrx and test standard radeon driver.
Login to Unity-2d and test behaviour there.

Test if OpenGL is enabled. (needs installation of mesa-utils)
glxinfo | grep OpenGL
