hci_cmd_timer hci0 command tx timeout during boot

Asked by Chris Burleigh

I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba laptop. It is an AMD quad core with 6gb of RAM.

It starts to boot but then goes to hci_cmd_timer hci0 command tx timeout several times during boot and then stops.

I also Installed to boot along with Windows 7 and now Windows will not boot. It just resarts the computer over and over again.

Ok an update. I got the Windows to boot and I am recovering right now. I had Ubuntu 10 a few years ago and I really liked it. I would love to get Ubuntu 11.10 running on my new Toshiba. I have been trying for 2 days now and if it is not one thing it is another. I am really dissapointed as I have never had these issues before with Ubuntu nor Windows. Even the laptop I had v10 on before is not installing properly. My new laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Platinum P755D-S7144 . It has an AMD Quad-Core A8-3520M Processor and 750GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm) Hard drive. It has 6Gb DDR3 Ram and 64-bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition operating system. When I booted the Ubuntu Screen comes on to choose a boot. I choose the normal boot and it runs the boot screen. It then says hci_cmd_timer hci0 command tx timeout about 10 times and just stays there. Everything before this looks fine. I had issues before with the screen going black but I found a fix for that. Any help would be appreciated.
