Why is LIO iscsi_target_mod not built by default?

Asked by mklemm

Hi all,
I'm trying to use LIO as iscsi-target on Oneiric. However, the required "iscsi_target_mod.ko" doesn't seem to be in the standard "linux-image-server" package.

As I have seen in the kernel sources, these modules need a special configuration step before kernel build, involving running a "tcm_mod_builder.py" python script.

Maybe this was forgotten when building the standard kernel, or is there any other reason that it isn't included?
